JonwayEV Receives L7e-CU WVTA Certification for T21 Long Wheelbase
Certification unlocks pan-European sales and expands global market access for zero-emission micro-logistics solution
Jonway EV, a manufacturer of European Type-Approved electric micro commercial vehicles, today announced that its T21 electric mini truck has achieved Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) under the L7e-CU vehicle category for the long wheelbase (LWB) variant. This regulatory milestone authorizes the official sale, registration, and operation of the T21 LWB across all 27 European Union member states, as well as in international markets that recognize EU WVTA certification.

The newly certified T21 LWB variant delivers measurable operational improvements over the standard short wheelbase (SWB) configuration. The vehicle features a +9% increase in overall length to enable greater body customization, a +14% longer wheelbase for enhanced load stability and handling confidence, and a +22% increase in payload volume to support improved route economics. These enhancements translate to +0.35 m³ (+21.88%) additional internal cargo capacity, equivalent to +350 L of extra payload space, while preserving the compact footprint and urban maneuverability that define the T21 platform. The vehicle remains fully compliant with L7e-CU regulatory limits, requiring no additional driver licensing in applicable markets.

Technical specifications for the WVTA-certified T21 LWB include a 15 kW peak electric motor, battery pack of 11.52 kWh or 23 kWh as options, a real-world operating range of 100–200+ km, a maximum payload capacity of 360 kg, a top speed of 70 km/h, configurable as 2 or 1-seat cabin layouts, and AC charging capability from 20% to 80% in less than five hours.
"This certification represents a strategic expansion of our European commercial vehicle portfolio," said Shelton Wu, Director of Global Sales at Jonway EV. "The T21 LWB addresses direct feedback from customers who require greater cargo capacity without compromising urban accessibility or regulatory compliance. With this approval, we are positioned to support the growing demand for zero-emission last-mile logistics solutions across Europe and beyond."

The T21 LWB is now available for order through Jonway EV's website www.jonwayev.com/t21 or contact at contact@jonwayev.com directly.
